How to Make a San Diego Snake Trap

Snacks are very harmful animals, and once they enter your home, you should not rest until they are gone! Some San Diego snakes can actually be poisonous, which is a major red flag. You need to trap it and get it out of the house immediately! They enter your home hoping to find other small animals to prey on. At times they might even accidentally come into your house, from constantly searching for preys. This is why you need to make sure they do not enter your home, and if they do you need to trap them. Here are simple steps on how to trap a snake.

Step 1:
Know your location, and how you want to handle the capture of the snake. First if the location is inside the house, example: basement, then its best to use the glue trap. If it’s outdoor, it is better to use the wooden cage trap.

Step 2:
Pick the trap needed, which will depend on the location after it is figured out in the step above. For the glue trap you will need a cardboard box which should be pretty big, but it is better if you depend on the size of the California snake. After you cut out the parts that are needed, buy glue that is known for trapping snakes. Then spread the glue all over the cardboard box. For the wooden cage trap, you will need a lot of wood. First you cut the wood into 4 same size/ length rectangles. Then create the two squares that close the wooden box. Make sure you screw all the wood together so that it is completely stable. Lastly, you need to create a wooden measurement, which would close the door once the raccoon adds more weight.

Step 3:
Make sure you have bait, because without it the snake won’t even bother itself to explore other places. The bait does not have to be anything exotic, you can just put eggs. Snakes get attracted by eggs, especially if they belong to a chicken. If you are using the glue cardboard box, make sure the egg is in the middle, so the snake will have to pass the other areas to get to it. If you are using the cage, make sure the egg is attached to the measuring scale from the opposite side of the door. This will cause the door to close when there is more weight on the egg.

Step 4:
Once the San Diego snake is captured, have a normal cage ready to put the snake in. It is always better to keep the snake safe because it is inhuman to kill it. If you used the wooden cage, then you will not need to transfer the snake to another cage. However if you used the glue trap, pour warm water until the snake is loose and transfer it into the cage. When the snake is inside the cage you provided, take him to animal control. They would be able to handle it from there and make sure the California snake takes out of harm’s way.
