If I Have One San Diego Rat, Are There More?

Rats. It’s a scary sight for the fainted heart. Finding one at home can be bad for a few reasons, such as the possibility of having multiple rats in one setting. San Diego rats are creatures by nature where rats survive when with other rats, so infestation is quite possible. So consider this when noting the fact that there are multiple rats in one place. First, there is the mentioned above fact that rats come in packs. The pack is led by an alpha male or female and growsfrom there. They will multiply with their packs of mice or others rats will just join them as one big family. So, when there is more than one California rat, it isn’t two or three, but a few dozen. Another sign is the sounds they make at night. Rats are active then and they will run up and down the walls making squeaks and scratching the inside when they all make their move. Rats as a pack will leave droppings that can be spotted and give a foul odor, or even leave signs of gnawed out wood inside or outside the home.

The next question is how to handle such a group. The procedure of dealing with one rat is the same with multiple San Diego rats. Rats breed a lot and the most common form of capturing them is a rap trap, killing them instantly while being humane and not gory. (The old cheese bit at the end with the snap could easily cut them in half, so these new traps are not as such.)So, simply place a ton of traps all over where they grow over to get them in one swoop. Those that avoid capture will be scared enough to flee from the scene. Really, the only way to formally detect the presence of multiple rats is by catching one rat and then hearing more of them afterwards. Or, simply hire a professional who handles rats infestations to identify the damage and then plan for their removal. It may be better for many to just get pest control to do the job because it is easily something that can be fouled up and made worse if done alone. For example, it is wise to not use chemicals because, while it kills the rats, it also does more damage to the inner walls. After killing the California rats, the walls have to be completely cleaned and disinfected before the walls can be fixed properly. Rats are a nasty sight. Many hate them because these small things not just harm the house, but people too with their diseases if they bite a person or if coming into contact with waste they leave behind. Rat-based diseases are known and fairly common, but all of this can be avoided if taking the proper steps to getting rid of them. Some will find just one San Diego rat, but others will most likely come across multiple rats infesting the area. Make sure all precautions are done properly.
